About The Games Master

That's me! My name is Jon Glover and I run the games at Redwood Games. I started playing Dungeons and Dragons almost 40 years ago when I was 11 and have been playing this and other role paying games ever since. When I was 11 I was going through a pretty rough time. D&D gave be an amazing opportunity to leave my real world troubles behind, make new friends and loose myself in another world we created together where our imagination was the only limit. By 14 I was designing and running my own games.

After having my own kids, playing with them and other young people, I saw the difference these games can make and the incredible impact on self confidence. Parents noticed this too and I found the feedback very encouraging. Having recently moved to Norwich and spotting a potential gap where young people can come together to take part in roll playing games, I decided to found Redwood Games.

I live in a close family of neurodivergent people and am both dyslexic and discalculic. I own my own company called Neuro-Informed and work with my wife Naomi.

Experience

I have almost 4 decades of experience of playing and running role playing games. I've played and run games for friends, with complete strangers at conventions and with young people including my 2 kids, Caitie and Thom. I have designed and run dungeons and dragons games both online and in person. Mutual respect, inclusivity and non judgement are the cornerstones of the games I run. In the past I have run games for nurodivergent, queer and trans teenagers as well as neurotypical young people.

I am an ex Samaritan and continue to use the skills developed there to create a nurturing environment where young people can explore, relax, and most of all have fun!

DBS

I am fully DBS checked and can provide my certificate on request.

  • Bernard Cornwell

  • R. A. Salvatore
